METexpo on the 15th - 17th March 2022!

We are very pleased to let you know about our plans for 2022. The media, entertainment and creative production industries, are being rapidly disrupted in many ways, including the challenges in 2020 driven in a large part by the impacts of Covid-19. METexpo 2019 was the conference and show that was created with this context in mind and shaped by a range of industry and member engagements and feedback. In the lead up to, during, and post event, we have continued to engage with our members and the industry community to deliver an even more focussed event in 2021 to meet the needs of the membership, visitors and the participants in the show. We are working with our long-term partner Expertise Events to deliver a conference and exhibition that hits the high quality that members and visitors expect.

Description

The key highlights of METexpo 22

  • Sydney conference to be based in a new location that will integrate more smoothly the conference and exhibition in one unified space at the ICC.
  • The date of the event moves to August to deliver a landmark Australian based media, entertainment and technology show and conference ahead of any international shows in 2021.
  • There will be two dedicated conference streams exploring the technology standards and innovation, with ground breaking local and international papers and presenters.
  • There will be ample opportunities to engage strongly with the industry product and service community including two early evening social events.

We would love your help

  • No event like this can be a success without the passion and efforts of the members who contribute to conference with their expertise and efforts to write and present on the day.
  • We will soon be looking for the ideas for submissions for the 2022 conference which will be themed around the technology challenges and innovations you can share with our community of media professionals and engineers.
  • With three days of the show to prepare and deliver, we will be looking for members of our SMPTE community to get involved in a voluntary capacity, to help us ensure we make a smooth and excellent event for all. We will be announcing our METexpo members volunteering initiative, where we look for you to get involved and some ways we can say thank you for your efforts.

The SMPTE team here in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands look forward to a very exciting 2021 and to an engaging and thought leading METexpo!

In these Covid times we want to ensure all our members and friends have a really safe and enjoyable time at METexpo. Given the current conditions in Sydney, we have shifted our event to March of 2022, so you can feel confident and comfortable in coming to our show and conference.

We are really excited about our packed conference program, which includes a number of new features. We will share the full program details very shortly but meanwhile here is a taster of what you can plan to experience for media professionals, technologists and engineers.

  • 3 days of conference and industry innovation show, with two social events open to all

  • Brand new Business of Media panels featuring thought leaders from the ABC, SCA, Nova, Deluxe, Seven Media, Telstra, AWS, SPA and more
