Kylee Pena


Kylee Pena|USA-Hollywood Governor for 2024-2025

Kylee Peña is a Program Manager for the Creative Technologies team at Netflix in Los Angeles. Her work is focused on facilitating the development of innovations and thought leadership across motion imaging and sound. Kylee’s efforts and empathy at Netflix are informed by over a decade of work in offline editorial and dailies & workflow for which she earned dozens of major credits on television and feature films.

A prolific community organizer, Kylee prioritizes the support and empowerment of underrepresented and underserved individuals in the entertainment industry and the LA region through mentorship and volunteerism. She has helped to shape an internal resource group at Netflix that seeks to improve access to the industry for underrepresented groups, and she volunteers in a leadership position with the Junior League of Los Angeles.

Kylee is also a SMPTE Hollywood Section Manager and has served on the annual conference programming committee and as a session chair for the past several years. The paper Kylee co-authored for the 2017 technical conference, “Why Diversity Programs Fail – and How to Fix Them,” was published in the Motion Imaging Journal in October 2018. She was also named a StudioDaily Top Technologist and Exceptional Woman in Post.

She holds degrees in video production and applied computer science from Indiana University and Purdue University, a certificate in project management from Cornell University, and is a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. She is currently on the last step of a Project Management Professional certification.
