Bits by the Bay is back! SMPTE Washington DC held their extremely popular event earlier this week. The two-day conference, held in tandem with SBE Chapter 37, took place at the Rod n’ Reel Resort and Convention center. The event was attended by 200 of the most influential members of the industry, as well as many industry leaders of East Coast organizations.
SMPTE Sacramento held an event entitled, “A Practical Introduction to Machine Learning with TensorFlow.” Attendees at the meeting collaborated on their laptops with Google Colab, running simple models with TensorFlow to learn about linear regression, convolutional neural networks (CNNs), sentiment analysis, and reward-based learning.
SMPTE Ohio held an event called, “Bringing to Light: The Changes in the Tower Lighting World!” In tandem with SBE Chapter 52, the event showcased the latest updates in broadcast tower lighting, specifically focusing on the recent Federal Aviation Administration regulations. Held both in person and on Zoom, this heavily attended evening was a major success.
SMPTE Toronto held an event of Live Cloud production and challenges. SMPTE New England held an Post-NAB Wrap-up. Both these events were held in-person, and were very well attended and enjoyed by all involved.
The SMPTE ST 2110 Boot Camp is back! This hit intensive gives attendees a comprehensive education on SMPTE ST 2110, including how to implement the Standard in workplaces, solutions to possible issues that could arise, and how to master the solution once it’s in place. We’re also offering a hands-on practical lab so attendees can apply what they learn right away.
