Speakers: Merrick Ackermans CBS Broadcasting Inc.

Director of R.F. and Transmission Engineering CBS NAB 2024 Speaker

Ackermans was raised in the greater Chicago area and attended Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois where he earned a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering and Technology. From 1988- 2015 Ackermans worked for Turner Broadcasting System in Atlanta Georgia where he held multiple engineering and management positions for the Turner Entertainment Group. He currently runs his own consulting firm MVA Broadcast Consulting. Ackermans has been active in both the SMPTE and industry-wide standards process, having chaired multiple SMPTE standards committees and working groups. He has been active in SMPTE’s Atlanta Section and Southern Region form many years, having served multiple terms as both a Southern Region Governor and Atlanta Section Manager. Ackermans is a current board member of the Video Services Forum and is proud to be a SMPTE Fellow.

 

Mark Forman, Mark Forman Productions, Corp. will present his NAB 2024 Slideshow and talk.

With over 50 years using cameras Mark has done many things.

The Forman Camera Bicycles, Forman HD Screening Room, Photographer,Cinematographer, first user of a full frame DSLR for a feature film Notorious Big December 2008, Current SMPTE NY Manager, Photographer for Film and Digital Times SMPTE and others, Education NYU Tisch BFA, MFA Film and Television

 

David Leitner Cinematographer, Filmmaker, SMPTE Fellow is an Oscar-nominated producer, director, and Emmy-nominated cinematographer with over ninety credits in dramas and documentaries including eight Sundance Film Festival premieres. From 1977-1985 he was Director of New Technology at DuArt Film & Video in New York, responsible for innovations in optical printing, cine lens and camera testing, film-to-tape transfer, and Super 16.
