SMPTE Toronto would like to announce its second annual special “youth” meeting designed primarily to educate and engage student members of the media production community.

Description

This month’s meeting is SMPTE Toronto’s 2nd annual students focused meeting. Geared for students and others who might be interested in new media technology for their future endeavours. We have invited a group of experts and selected topics that reflects a snapshot of the industry. Our goal is to show the vastness of new media and broadcasting technologies, and to give an insight on the potential opportunities that may exists.

Renard Jenkins, Membership Vice President, SMPTE.  Renard will speak to What is SMPTE, its benefits and the new emerging technologies SMPTE is involved in.

Ryan Morris, Systems Engineer, Arista Networks. Ryan will update us on IP and broadcast workflows.

Francois Gauthier, Technical Sales Representative, Camera, ARRI Canada Limited. Francois will touch upon SMPTE’s relationship to the cinema industry.

Cliff Lavallee, Director of LUV studio services, TFO. Cliff will update us on virtual immersive production technologies.

Afsoon Soudi, Senior Manager, Digital Development, CBC/Radio-Canada. Afsoon will review a few media companies' approaches of using Machine learning products and their benefits with focus on recommender systems and analytics.

Cameron Reed, Global Business Development Manager, Esports, Ross Video.  Cameron will introduce us to E-sports productions.
