The Evolution of Distribution Live IP Production

New York and New England Section April New Technology Special Webinar

The Evolution of Distribution Live IP Production

Description

ABSTRACT OF PRESENTATION:

The initial thrust of IP Live Media Production deployment was focused on exchanging traditional SDI infrastructure for flexible format and resolution-agnostic connectivity. Whilst this provided flexibility and a good degree of future-proofing, it did not fully realize any significant transformation of production workflow or real cost savings. However, with the evolution of LIVE IP PRODUCTION to a distributed model with seamless use of Wide Area IP connectivity has meant a real workflow transformation and significant efficiency gains. Now, production resources, be they the people, the studio floors, galleries, trucks and all the processing capability (appliances or software) can be shared in flexible and dynamic ways across multiple locations. This presentation will unpack the technology enablers behind this transformation as well as some case studies to demonstrate real-world developments.
