The SMPTE Sum-Up 7-12-2025

November 11, 2025

Welcome to the SMPTE Sum-Up, the weekly publication that details the recent and current events of your favorite standards development organization. Recently at SMPTE:

SMPTE New England held an event on remote camera control and shading for modern live productions. The webinar featured multiple, groundbreaking camera control solutions designed specifically for remote shading options for multiple cameras during live broadcasts. The event included a demonstration of a Remote Control Panel and multiple camera interfaces.

The Call for Papers will also include a Color Science specific track with two ways to submit: The Journal Track Manuscript requires a publication ready paper (5000-word limit). The Conference Proceedings Track requires an extended summary (up to 1500 words) that describes key results and methodologies with figures. All materials for the color science option are due by July 15. More info and forms can be found here.

SMPTE Standards has several updates, including a new survey that will help improve the SMPTE Standards Community. Fill out the survey here. A new Public Committee Draft has just been released for SMPTE ST 2067-21, which can be accessed here. Standards also wants the Society to check out our new and improved recently published document page.

SMPTE would like to welcome our new and returning corporate members, Ross Video Ltd., Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG, Megapixel, Bridge Technologies, Arista Networks, Koninklijke Philips N.V., and InSync Technology Ltd.!
