This month, Scott Fybush, veteran broadcaster and chronicler of broadcast facilities and happenings in the northeast US and across the country, takes us on a virtual tour of broadcast transmission sites around our region that he's visited and documented over the years. Scott has many fascinating stories to tell and pictures to show, and it will be an entertaining and informative evening for anyone interested in broadcast facilities.

SCOTT FYBUSH is editor and publisher of the long-running weekly Northeast Radio Watch, which chronicles broadcast radio and TV in that region of the US and Canada. Scott does news at NPR affiliate WXXI-FM and is Engineer for WDKX-FM, Rochester NY. He is a regular contributor to the public media magazine Current,writing about technical issues, including Public TV and Radio adoption of ATSC 3.0 and HD radio.

A popular feature of Scott’s NERW report is Tower Site of the Week, featuring selections of photos and background about the hundreds of sites he has visited over he years. Many of these are featured in the annual Fybush Media Tower Site Calendar, which quite a few of us have hanging on our walls, attesting to our nerdy addiction to “tower porn” (2022 edition soon available!) Scott has recently presented localized “Tower Site” programs for other SBE and SMPTE groups, and will feature select MI-OH-ONT sites for us. This is a departure from our usual high-tech video nuts and bolts format, but, many of us have roots and interest in the RF and audio side of things. Scott visited Detroit locations in 2016, and joined a group of SMPTE and SBE members and radio fans at Shields for a genuine Detroit-Style Pizza lunch.

Oh, and, Scott and wife Lisa produce and often perform standup comedy at a Rochester NY local club.
