The SMPTE Sum-Up 11-1-2025

November 11, 2025

Welcome to the SMPTE Sum-Up, the weekly publication that details the recent and current events of your favorite standards development organization. Recently at SMPTE:

SMPTE New England held an in-person meeting on a Sony all-encompassing Digital Telecasting System called Multicam Live. The presentation was given by Jospeh Schimizzi and Hugo P. Gaggioni, who described how Multicam Live would revolutionize live production by incorporating a wide variety of HD cameras, production switchers and solid-state recording technologies.

The Content Provenance and Authenticity (CPA) Study Group has a brand-new public survey! The survey’s goal is to identify gaps in current standards, explore interoperability with emerging technologies such as C2PA, and inform future SMPTE work that supports secure, verifiable, and trustworthy media production. It will also ask for user stories during the survey. Standards also wants the Society to check out our new and improved recently published document page.

SMPTE would like to welcome its new and returning corporate members: Deluxe, Bloomberg, Fuse Technical Group, Deltacast.tv!

The SMPTE Job Board has been updated!
