March 29, 2021

News Briefs

The ATSC 3.0 rollout, TV Technology reported recently that the most recent American television stations to deploy the new standard are five Buffalo, New York, stations owned by broadcast groups Scripps, Tegna, Sinclair, which owns two of the stations, and Nexstar respectively. This development makes Buffalo the 24th market in the U.S. to launch ATSC 3.0 service, and the first in New York, according to the article. Madeleine Noland told TV Technology that two other markets—Baltimore and Syracuse, New York—have now filed with the FCC for ATSC deployment. Other markets also currently deploying ATSC 3.0 include Las Vegas, Phoenix, Detroit, Dallas, Salt Lake City, and Seattle, among others.
