Welcome to the SMPTE Sum-Up, the weekly publication that details the recent and current events of your favorite standards development organization. This week at SMPTE:

The biggest event of this week was the Media Tech Sustainability Summit. This inaugural event spoke on the who, what, where and how of media tech sustainability. SMPTE partnered with some of the biggest names in the industry like TVBEurope, TVTech, and Radiant Media Player amongst others. This two-day event could be attended online or in-person and discussed multiple sustainability efforts that industry is undertaking. This amazing event brought great industry minds together to come up with solutions that will change the world.

SMPTE New England also held an event this week led by David Caulwell, the Regional Sales Director East for Riedel Communications. The event detailed how Riedel Communications works on television and how they can be used by SMPTE members to benefit their careers.

In Media Technology Summit News, the early bird deadline for booth registration is coming up on June 30^th! Half of the booths have already been selected and exhibitors will want to take advantage of the early bird pricing. After June 30^th, exhibitors will have to pay the full price to select a booth. For example, SMPTE members who get a 15x15 booth before June 30^th pay $6,900. SMPTE members who select a 15x15 booth after June 30^th pay $7,500.
